The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, has called on parents to invest more in their children’s education to adequately secure their future.
Professor Balogun made this plea in his speech, delivered at the Biennial Inter-House Sports Competition of the UNAAB Staff School, held at the Muda Lawal Stadium, Asero, Abeokuta. Represented at the ceremony by the University’s Sports Committee Chairman, Dr. Sam-Wobo, Professor Balogun reasoned that the children being potential leaders of tomorrow, their parents should invest positively in their education towards building a virile nation.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the Head-Teacher, Mrs. Florence Alade and other members of staff for the success recorded in the school, noting that sports played a crucial role in the development of children.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Abiodun Ganiyu Busura, applauded the selfless efforts of the Management and staff of the school for imparting quality knowledge in the pupils and equally challenged the pupils to develop their talents not only in academic, but also in sports.
Final results of the competition indicated that Bisi Soboyejo House (Blue) emerged first with 210 points, while Julius Okojie House (Green) and ‘Nimbe Adedipe House (Yellow) came second and third with 198 and 188, points respectively. Chancellor House (Brown) was fourth with 186 points.
