The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, has cautioned students of the institution to be wary of associations they enroll with, as such seemingly harmless decision often go a long way in forming their future attributes.

Professor Balogun, represented by his deputy for Academic, Prof. Chryss Onwuka, made the call in his address at the Passing-Out Parade/Investiture Ceremony of the Red Cross Society of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) Detachment.

The Vice-Chancellor noted with satisfaction, the roles of the Red Cross Society on campus vis-à-vis first-aid treatment and security, describing the Society as a disciplined youth-oriented organization.

The wife of the Vice-Chancellor and Head of Department of Biochemistry, Professor Elizabeth Balogun, was at the ceremony designated as the Grand Patroness and Associate Member of the Ogun State Detachment of the Red Cross Society.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Red Cross Commandant, Adeoye Samson, appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, who is also the Grand Patron of the Society, for his financial support.

Commandant Samson enumerated his achievement in office to include the establishment of a formidable emergency team to respond to the first-aid needs of students and the production of bill boards on first-aids tips at strategic locations in the University.
