A Training Manager from the Information Training and Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA), Professor Dele Fawole, has described the University of Agriculture , Abeokuta (UNAAB) as an excellent partner in progress.
He said this at a joint Workshop on The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library (TEEAL), Access to Global Online Research in Agriculture (AGORA), organized by ITOCA and UNAAB.
According to him, “this is the sixth national workshop in Nigeria and the third in UNAAB. UNAAB has been an excellent partner in progress”.
At the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun reiterated the commitment of the University Management to the improvement of research and teaching.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof. Segun Lagoke, the Vice-Chancellor said the lecture was meant to focus on the use of electronic/online library for improving teaching and research in agriculture and related sciences.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, “as part of the University’s efforts to improve the quality of research and teaching, the University had endorsed collaboration with ITOCA, South Africa, to jointly organize this workshop”.
“The international workshop is aimed at presenting methods for improving educational deliveries to international standards and equipping University staff with the necessary tools for improving the quality of knowledge delivery to levels that will promote enhanced educational standard and ensure that the University becomes attractive to international academics and students”, he stated.
Earlier, the Director, Centre for Internationalization and Partnerships (CENIP), Dr. Olukayode Akinyemi thanked Management for being supportive of the programmes of the Centre.
