As part of measures to standardize the operations of the University’s Centre for Internalization and Partnerships (CENIP), the Governing Council has adopted and approved a Linkage Policy, for efficient service delivery.

According to a release signed by the Acting Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Adeleke Adeboye, the Council approved the UNAAB Linkage

Policy at its Statutory Meeting of Friday, May 13, 2011.
The Linkage Policy statements are:

1. any intended or on-going linkage activity involving the University with any other local or foreign Institution shall normally be registered with CENIP, clearly stating the linkage objectives, expected outputs, resource flows, linkage mechanisms and duration of the linkage;

2. any intended or on-going linkage activity involving the University with any local or foreign Industry shall normally be registered with CENIP, clearly stating the linkage objectives, expected outputs, resource flows, linkages mechanisms and duration of the linkage;

3. any externally funded collaboration shall normally be registered with one electronic copy and one hard copy of the terms of the collaboration deposited with CENIP;

4. a service charge of 12% of any international research grant shall normally be deducted by the University as overhead cost;

5. of the 12% service charge to be deducted by the University on every internationally funded collaboration, 2% shall be for CENIP, while the balance of 10% shall normally be retained by the University.

6. any intended visit to any foreign University by any staff or student of UNAAB shall normally be registered with CENIP, clearly stating the visit objectives, expected outputs, resource flows, visit mechanisms and duration of the visit;

7. all official visit by foreigners to UNAAB shall normally be registered with CENIP through their host Departments, clearly stating the visit objectives, expected outputs, resource flows and duration of the visit;

8. any linkage activity involving the University shall normally be supported by a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which shall clearly spell out modalities for joint utilization of facilities and clearly specify the contributions of the parties;

9. all MOUs shall normally be in tandem with the University’s strategic linkage objectives and national developmental goals; and

10. Violation of these policy objectives by staff shall be viewed as gross misconduct.

Council, according to its Digest, viewed that the overall goal of the policy would be to achieve “a functional relationship within the University and with other agencies in the realization of the mandate of UNAAB through optimum utilization of shared resources”.
