In its bid to strengthen the Science and Technology capacity of ACP countries to use tropical root and tuber crops, the European Union – Africa Caribbean and the Pacific (EU-ACP) on Monday, began a-5 Day Project Workshop at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB).
Speaking at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Professor Segun Lagoke, noted that the Project Workshop will help young career Scientists to boost income generation.
Professor Lagoke said, the Workshop will help in strengthening the science and technology capacities of young scientists, researchers and participants to tap from the wealth of knowledge of the Resource Persons.
Earlier in his Address, the EU-ACP Regional Coordinator, Professor Lateef Sanni welcomed the participants to the programme, charging them to take advantage of the training.
The Workshop had in attendance, Professor Satish Chandra, from the South Pacific; Dr. Louise Abayomi from the National Research Institute (NRI); and Mrs Clair Coote, also from NRI.
