The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the University, Chief Lawrence Ayinde Olakunle Osayemi and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, had commiserated with the Folarin family over the recent death of the Chairman/CEO of Lateef Folarin and Sons Construction Company, Alhaji Lateef Folarin.

The condolence came even as Chief Osayemi and Professor Balogun commended the sons of the deceased for continuing the good works of their father.

The late Folarin was one of the University’s Building Contractors, reputed by Management for executing quality work and ensuring prompt delivery.

The Pro-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor extolled the good virtues of the deceased as they inspected the Female Hostels, part of which was contracted to the late Folarin’s company.

Chief Osayemi told the deceased son, Rasheed, who has taken-over activities at site, “I didn’t know your Daddy when he was alive but some people were saying I knew him. Even when he died, people were consoling me. The lesson to learn is that your good work will always sell you.

You are the first member of his (late Alhaji Folarin) family that I will see. We have fond memories of him, he always kept to his words when it comes to delivery of building contracts and he won’t bring the quality of the job down”, he added.

Speaking in the same vein, the Vice-Chancellor commended the sons of the late Folarin for sustaining their father’s good legacy.

According to him, “Before his death, he had done 75 per cent of the contract given to him, so we know where the job was before your father’s death. We know where it is now. You, the children have done exceptionally well by continuing your father’s good work, especially, in this Female Hostel. I have no doubt that they will hand-over by March 15”.
