Dr. Biodun Surajudeen Badmus, ASUU Chairman.
A Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics, College of Natural Sciences (COLNAS), Dr. Biodun Surajudeen Badmus, has emerged as the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), FUNAAB Branch.
Prior to his election as Chairman, Dr. Badmus, who has carved a niche as a seasoned Unionist, had served in various capacities as Executive member of ASUU, in the last ten years, serving as the Vice-Chairman in the last Executive Council, led by Dr. Olusiji Sowande.
He was the pioneer Coordinator of the University’s Webometrics Centre. He holds a B.Sc Degree in Physics from the University of Ibadan, an M.Sc in Solid Earth Geophysics, from the same University and a Ph.D in Applied Geophysics from the University of Lagos.
In his Inaugural Speech, Dr. Badmus commended the immediate past Chairman and Executive members for a job well done and promised that the new officers will faithfully pursue the cause of ASUU.
He thanked members of the Union for reposing confidence in him and the entire executive, promising that the new officers will not betray the confidence reposed in them.
Other elected officers are: Dr. Festus Adeosun (Vice-Chairman), Dr. Adebayo Oni (General Secretary), Dr. A.W Shittu (Treasurer), Dr I.O Abiala (Financial Secretary), Dr. A. W. Salawu (Internal Auditor) and Dr. (Mrs.) O.E Fapojuwo (Investment Officer).
Also ratified were: Dr. (Mrs.) C.N Okorie (Assistant General-Secretary) and Dr. Olusiji Sowande, immediate past Chairman.
