The Federal Government has introduced a special Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme for graduates, who obtained First Class Honours, from the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 academic sessions and would have completed their National Youth Service by May, 2012.
A release, signed by Mr. Ben Ige, on behalf of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, informed that the scholarship will be tenable in top 25 Universities of the world.
The release added that eligible candidates should possess First Class Honours Degrees with the intention of pursuing Postgraduate Degrees in disciplines such as the Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, special aspects of Biology, Engineering and Technology as well as Economics and Medicine.
Candidates must be below 30 years of age by July, 2012, computer literate and ready to be bonded to work preferably as academic staff in any public university or research institute for a minimum period of five years.
Interested applicants were however cautioned that universities in the United States of America require candidates to sit for the Graduate Record Exams (GRE) before they can secure admission.
