The former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nestle Foods Nigeria, Plc, Chief Olusegun Osunkeye has restated his commitment to developing the Osunkeye Food and Nutrition Research Library, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
Towards this end, Chief Osunkeye has re-assessed the needs of the library, with a view to making it a reference point for researchers in FUNAAB and beyond.
The Industrialist has agreed to replace the non-functioning Air-conditioners with two new, 2HP Split Units.
He also proposed to install inverters to provide back-up power for the Unit, for about six hours, to extend the hours of study by library users.
Chief Osunkeye’s magnanimity has led to the installation of two Desktop Computers that will allow students search the electronic catalogue, which will in turn, extend and enrich the quality and quantity of available materials.
He decried the dearth of suitable books in the library and promised that he would supply as many books in the field of Food and Nutrition, within the available resources.
Chief Osunkeye, however, restated his commitment at supplying more books to the library, which will be supplemented with useful electronic journals, in the research of specific topics in Food and Nutrition.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole has commended the generosity of Chief Osunkeye, praying for God’s continued blessing on him.
“I thank you most heartily, Sir, for the things you have promised to do with respect to the improvement of the Osunkeye Food and Nutrition Research Library. I also appreciate your promise to look at the possibility of installing Inverters to provide back-up power to the Unit, for six hours”, the Vice-Chancellor stated.
Professor Oyewole, however, said he would continue to solicit for his “fatherly advice and guidance”.
