The Governing Council at its 72nd Statutory Meeting held on Friday, July 13, 2012 considered the acceptance and closing deadline for academic publications for the annual promotion exercise and directed that only papers accepted on or before June 30 would be considered for promotion in that particular year.
A release signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mr. Matthew Ayoola informed that any paper accepted for publication after June 30 would only be used for promotion in the following year.
The release further stated that Council upheld Section 3:4:3 of the extant Senior Staff Rules and Regulations on promotion procedures which states as follows:
“Proposal for promotion shall be initiated by the Head of Department not later than 30th June of the year for the consideration of appropriate Review Panel at which the Personnel Division of the Registry shall be represented”.
