The Deputy Director, Directorate of University Farms (DUFARMS), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Mr. Michael Ayo Jaiyeola has described time management as a panacea, which enhances high productivity level of workers in an organization.
Mr. Jaiyeola made this known while delivering a Paper titled, “Work Ethics and Time Management in Research and Commercial Farming Systems” at the 2013 Pre-season Training Workshop for Senior Staff of DUFARMS, held recently.
The Deputy Director pointed out that Time is an important tool which controls the productivity tempo of individuals, organizations and the society in general.
“The use of time has brought about successes and failure in the achievements of set goals. It is often disturbing that this very important resource is not taken seriously by students, staff and the community in general”, he added.
Mr. Jaiyeola identified the major time wasters, which are found in poor planning, poor organization, paper work, meetings and interruptions.
The Deputy Director, DUFARMS enjoined the Non-Teaching Staff in the University to obey the laws and regulations of the University, maintain honesty, integrity, fairness, adhering to the official resumption/closing time and doing nothing to tarnish the image of the University.
