The University Alumni Association has assured the Governing Council of their cooperation and support towards promoting academic development and excellence of their Alma Mater.
The Professor Lateef Sanni-led Alumni Association made this known during a Courtesy Call on the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Sir (Dr.) Adeseye Ogunlewe at his Lagos residence.
Professor Sanni, who noted that the University was indeed lucky to have the caliber of Senator Ogunlewe and other eminent Nigerians as members of its Council expressed optimism that FUNAAB would witness sporadic and unprecedented achievements under their leadership.
He advocated for the implementation of industrial revolution and commercialization of agriculture as a means of securing a greater future for the University.
Responding, the Chairman of Council, Sir Ogunlewe lauded the Association for its commitment to the University while promising to carry them along in planning the future of the University through constant consultations.
The Pro-Chancellor stated that they were important stakeholders of the University while he is a custodian, representing the Federal Government, “this is your heritage and future, you cannot write your history without FUNAAB”.
He encouraged the Alumni to bring their children and wards to the institution since FUNAAB has a stable academic calendar and one can be sure of completion of his/her academic programme in a record time like what obtains in universities abroad.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole charged the alumni to ensure that whatever they do reflect the excellence that FUNAAB is known for.
