FUNAAB has remained the choice University for admission seekers as over 28,000 candidates were on campus for the 2013 Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). The 3-day screening exercise, which took place in three centres was hitch-free as adequate logistic arrangements were made for the movement of candidates in and out of the University.

According to the Co-ordinator of the exercise and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Professor Toyin Arowolo, about 9,800 candidates sat for the examination on daily basis and in batches, adding that over 700 computers and relevant accessories were provided for the electronic tests. Professor Arowolo stated that it was very difficult for candidates to engage in malpractices or perpetrate any form of disturbance given the tight security in place.

Meanwhile, parents and guardians of candidates for the Post-UTME examination have commended the University for the smooth conduct of the exercise. Mr. Amoo Kolawole (Lagos) and Mrs. Bello Mariam (Sango-Ota), expressed satisfaction over the fleet of University luxurious buses that were specially designated for the conveyance of students to and from campus, as well as provision of tents which provided sun-shields for parents at the campus gate.

They described the restriction of parents and guardians, and wards who did not have any examinations to the main entrance of the campus, as a welcome development, which prevented congestion and encroachment on examination centres. The Guidance and Counselling Team of the University, led by a Principal Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Modesta Ofodile, were also on ground to keep parents and guardians engaged with motivational talks and enlightenment campaigns.
