Adefuyi made this disclosure during a training programme held recently for students on Google mapping in the University. According to the 300 level student of Electrical/Electronics, “what we are doing today is putting all locations like our lecture theatres and colleges in the school on the Google map such that anybody from anywhere in the world can actually have access to the campus and see where the classrooms and colleges are located from the map”.
Explaining further, Adefuyi said that with the Google map, a visitor on campus can easily locate his/her way round, without the fear of getting missing. The Google Ambassador, who disclosed that he has enjoyed maximum support from the University Management, described the experience of students as life changing and very encouraging.
He said that aside the training for students, there are also scholarship opportunities available for students to write certification examination online after an online training to be done via the Google site. Adefuyi charged Nigerian youths and particularly students of the University to explore the world of unlimited possibilities by taking advantage of the numerous Google applications to enhance their productivity as students and the society at large.
The Google Ambassador advised his colleagues to leverage on Google apps to make themselves more productive, while stressing that “the internet is more than going to Facebook or watching films. It is actually meant for you to enhance and equip yourself. The internet is an open door of opportunities in front of you, it now depends on how you want to maximise it”, he said.
