The Lagos Business School (LBS), has lauded the business initiatives of FUNAAB at augmenting funds received from the Federal Government, stressing that with the right synergy with LBS, the University would become a leading institution in driving agricultural businesses in the country.
The team leader from LBS, Mr. Ikechukwu Kelikume gave the commendation after a facility tour of the various fund-generating units of the University.
Obviously impressed by what the team saw on ground, he described the visit as an eye-opener to the great work the University was doing and the abundant opportunities that still lies ahead.
According to him, “when we were contacted that the University was planning for capacity building on investment of fund and returns on investment, we decided to come here to see what the University was doing business-wise. Coming here has been an eye-opener. However, I see gold, diamond and lots of resources that are yet to be tapped”.
Kelikume predicted a long lasting synergy with the University saying “my school is a business school and FUNAAB is like a practical arm of what we do. So, I think the synergy is not something that we would say is a one-off thing. It is something that would be long lasting”.
Describing the University’s Guest House as ‘very good’, he said it was of a very high standard.
Kelikume said FUNAAB is not an institution that merely runs only theory-based programmes but rather, students of the University are properly equipped with the practical skills that could turn-around the nation.
He, however, advised the University to sustain its strong Alumni relations because experience had shown that the Alumni of any institution are capable of propelling its advancement and development.
He also admonished the University Management to ensure the continuous maintenance of its facilities and especially provide ultra-modern equipment for the Industrial Park Unit (IPU).
