The new State Coordinator, Federal Character Commission (FCC), Ogun State Office, has paid a courtesy call on the Management of the University to solicit for its support in realising the mandates of the commission.

Giving a brief account of FCC, the State Coordinator, Mr. Ademuyiwa Adeniran, said the commission was set up to ensure equity, fairness, justice and to give a sense of belonging to all Nigerians. He said that corporate organisations were expected to advertise job vacancies in at least two national dailies; one in the south and the other in the north while short-listing and recruitment should be based on merit.

Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Professor Felix Salako, assured the State Coordinator of FUNAAB’s continued support. “The FCC is not strange to FUNAAB, as no interview is conducted in the University that the FCC is not invited for”, he stated. He added that the University had always complied with due process in its recruitment exercises and expressed the hope that the country would soon become a place where unemployment had become a thing of the past.
