The Egba Science Education Foundation (ESEF), has called on FUNAAB’s Students of Egba Origin to take advantage of its Scholarship Scheme.
The Foundation in a release signed by its Executive Secretary, Alhaji A. S. Ogundimu urged the University Management to provide the required assistance and support in the filling of the Application Forms to interested candidates who may wish to apply.
The release informed that the criteria for award of the educational grant includes that applicant’s parent(s) must be Egba indigene(s) with an attestation letter by the Local Government Chairman as evidence, applicant must be indigent, applicant must be registered 200 level student of a Public University in Nigeria and must be certified by the appropriate authority of the Institution, applicant must demonstrate good academic performance with a minimum Cumulative Grade Average (CGPA) of 4.00/5.00 as well as provide the statement of 100 level result which must be signed by the Registrar or appropriate authority of the Institution.
Application forms can be collected from the ESEF secretariat at DEE-BEE Plaza, Araromi, Adigbe, Abeokuta and submitted between June 11, 2018 and July 13, 2018.
According to Alhaji Ogundimu, the principal objective of ESEF is to complement the efforts of the State Government in providing qualitative science education to the youths of today and leaders of tomorrow.
He disclosed that over the past 15 years, the Foundation has supplied equipment to several schools and organized training workshop for Science, English and Mathematics teachers, in addition to giving awards to deserving students through ESEF Science Competitions open to public schools.
The Executive Secretary disclosed that the University has been identified as one of the possible institutions for candidates and /or winners of the yearly awards.
It is important to note that the Chief Olatunde Abudu, OFR, who is an Honourary Awardee of the University is the Chairman Board of Trustees of the Foundation.
