Staff of the University, drawn across various Units and Departments of the University have been awarded Advanced Digital Appreciation Certificates and declared Alumni of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), a foremost Computer Training Institute in the country.

Speaking during the Closing Ceremony of the programme, the Training Coordinator, Mrs. Talatu Seye-Lawal of DBI on behalf of the President of the Institution, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde expressed satisfaction with FUNAAB trainees, .

Declaring the programme closed, the University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako, who was represented by the Director, Information & Communication Technology Resource Centre (ICTREC), Professor Adesina Agboola, congratulated the trainees for presenting themselves for the opportunity and noted that the University is committed to the development of its staff.

He also thanked the Resource Persons from DBI for their maturity and manner of handling the various classes, to the interest of the participants, and promised that the University will ensure the training continues until it goes round all members of staff.

The beneficiaries were equipped with advanced knowledge in Statistical Packages for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and the Internet and Office Productivity Tools (IOPT), among other computer packages.

Earlier, at the Opening Ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, who was equally represented by the Director (ICTREC) had charged the participants to let the training pass through them by being attentive to the instructors.

Also speaking, the Director Academic Planning, Professor Olusola Adeniran noted that we are in a digital age and the University Management is interested in ensuring that various arms of the University are well acquainted with the knowledge of Computer.

The 5-day Training known as Advanced Digital Appreciation Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADAPTI) was put together by Digital Bridge Institute and sponsored by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
