Representative of Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), Professor Akin Adesehinwa delivering the Institute Goodwill Message at the occasion

The Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) and the Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP) have commended the University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako and the Principal Researcher of FUNAAB ALPHA Breed, Professor Olufunmilayo Adebambo respectively for doing them proud.

NIAS and NSAP gave the commendation in their Goodwill Messages at the formal presentation of Certificate of Registration of FUNAAB ALPHA to the University.

Baring the mind of NIAS/IAR&T, the representative, Professor Akin Adesehinwa said that “The Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB has done us (NIAS) proud”.

He described the success of FUNAAB Alpha, whose registration and presentation of certificate came when Professor Salako, is the Vice-Chancellor of the University as “a milestone in his life”.

Speaking further, Professor Adesehinwa commended FUNAAB’s commitment to research saying, “which other University of Agriculture in Nigeria has Agriculture and Media Resources Centre (AMREC). Everything is complete in FUNAAB.

Speaking in the same vein, the Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP) extolled the Principal Researcher of FUNAAB Alpha, Professor Olufunmilayo Adebambo for being a good ambassador of the Society.

President NSAP, Prof Ani, Represented by NSAP Council member and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of the University, Professor Chryss Onwuka, the Society commended Professor Adebambo for her tenacity and commitment to work since 1973 when the Society was established.

He pointed out that “there is no lazy Animal Scientist”, declaring that any member of the Society that is worth his or her calling is expected to exhibit the sterling attributes of hard work, commitment and dedication to any given course as exemplified by Professor Adebambo.

Professor Onwuka, however, charged Professor Adebambo saying “As you are almost breasting the tape of retirement, train those coming behind you”.

He congratulated the Management and the University at large on the presentation of certificate of FUNAAB ALPHA to the institution saying “It is good for the image of the University”.
