The Nigerian National Commission through the National Universities Commission (NUC) is calling for applications from interested candidates to fill vacancies in the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Meanwhile UNESCO/Keizo Obuchi Research Fellowship Programme (UNESCO/Japan Young Researchers’ Fellowship Programme) 2021 cycle is calling for application into its Fellowship Programme.

The Fellowship programme which is funded under the Japanese Fund-in-Trust for the capacity building of Human Resources aims at impacting research activities in the areas of Environment (with particular attention to water science); Intercultural Dialogue; Information and Communication Technologies; and Peaceful Conflict resolution.

Interested applicants are required to possess Post-graduate degree, must not be above 40 years of age, must be proficient in reading and writing the language of instruction in the proposed country of study/research and must be in good health (both physically and mentally).

Priority attention will be given to women candidates, candidates from least developed countries (LDCs) and Palestinian researchers.

Interested applicants are expected to submit duly completed UNESCO fellowship application form in duplicate, two recent photographs, certified copies of degrees or diplomas including transcripts of grades), a host institute’s letter of acceptance, certificates language proficiency and a detailed description of the research work in either English or French.

The proposed duration of research spans between 3 months and 9 months. The closing date of receipt of application is January 13, 2012.
