The Management of Paramount FM, Kobape, Abeokuta, has expressed its readiness to collaborate with the University to promote and sustain the institution’s celebrated excellence.

The Management of the radio station, led by the General Manager, Prince Adewale Adeboboye, disclosed this during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun.

According to Prince Adeboboye, the current high rating of the University was heartwarming, but called for more efforts and collaborations in projecting the University’s image further.

He expressed appreciation to the University for its patronage over the years, while soliciting for sponsorship of some agricultural programmes which he said would be of benefit to farmers, scholars and the public.

The General Manager pointed out that Paramount FM was one of the 35 radio stations, established by the Federal Government, to cater for the grassroots and as such, had a wide coverage that the University can exploit for agricultural extension services.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Professor Segun Lagoke, commended the Radio Station for its reportage of the University’s events, describing the station as a worthy partner in progress.

He assured the Radio Station of the University’s continual patronage while stressing that the institutions had a cordial relationship with the media, through the Directorate of Public Relations.

Confirming the University’s celebrated excellence at the just-concluded Webometric Ranking, Professor Balogun said, “although we are very young, our agility is what we use to our advantage, over other older Universities”.

The Vice-Chancellor also noted that in the University’s quest for excellence, members of staff had been helpful by sacrificing their time and annual leave towards the realization of the institution’s mandates.

He revealed that the University had successfully regularized its academic calendar, in line with the global standard practice adding that very few Universities nationwide had been able to achieve the feat.

The Vice-Chancellor, commenting on the peaceful disposition of the students said the University Management was able to maintain a clean record, due largely to its commitment to the students’ welfare.  He added that the University ensured that fees paid by the students were usually ploughed back on them.

The Vice-Chancellor then assured the Management of Paramount FM, of the University’s readiness to assist in the training of its staff at the University’s ICT Training Centre.
