FUNAAB Radio Coordinator, Mr. Ayo Arowojolu (2nd Left) with other student presenters while test-running the Studio, last week.

Broadcast professionals have commended the high quality of equipment procured for the University’s Radio Station, FUNAAB FM, describing the development as unparalleled in any Southwest state of the country.

Checks by FUNAAB Bulletin revealed that Studio Managers, Sound Engineers and other experts, who came on facility visit to the new recording studio, thumbed-up for the ultra-modern equipment, noting that they will stand the test of time.

The Coordinator of the Radio Station, Mr. Ayo Arowojolu, who confirmed the visit, stressed that the experts looked forward to the commencement of broadcast by the budding station, even as he disclosed that work is currently ongoing on the transmitting studio.

According to Arowojolu, “the experts were highly impressed with the quality of the Accoustics, Omni and Unidirectional Microphones, Beerhinger Active Speakers, LP Players, among others”.

He attributed the enviable standard of the studio to the quest of the University Management for quality and excellence, as he commended the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun, for his foresight and ingenuity in moving the University forward.

Arowojolu stated that the establishment of the University Radio Station would afford FUNAAB the vantage opportunity of being at par with older generation universities.

According to the Coordinator, “I want to commend specially, Prof. Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun for his foresight and ingenuity as Vice-Chancellor. I have heard him saying, it was high time those in authority, re-invented the classification of universities”.

“That is, universities should no longer be classified on the basis of generation because the old universities are dwarfing the growth and survival of new ones. With FUNAAB FM, Professor Balogun has made FUNAAB to be at par, if not surpassed those 50-year-old universities”, he added.

Mr. Arowojolu also commended the Chairman of the Establishment Committee on FUNAAB Radio, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, for his team-spirit and leadership qualities, as well as the immediate past and present Deputy-Vice-Chancellor (Development) for laying a solid foundation for the take-off of the radio station.
