Behold! A kaleidoscope of Christmas lightings and colour at FUNAAB Campus

A kaleidoscope of colours has enveloped the Alabata Permanent Site of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) as excitement and palpable euphoria of Christmas and End of Year festivities rent the air.

FUNAAB Bulletin crew which went round the campus last Monday observed that the Senate Building and several Colleges and Centres were already wearing festive look, decked with combination of colours and designs to herald the yuletide.

Besides, staffers in some of the places visited were seen fine-tuning arrangements to stage Xmas parties, except in few Colleges where such had been cancelled as a result of the on-going national strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The Front Office of the Senate Building as well as the main entrances of the College of Veterinary Medicine (COLVET), College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT), College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC) and the University Health Centre, were observed to be beautifully decorated with Xmas trees and lightings.

When FUNNAB Bulletin visited the Front Office of the Senate Building at 9:42am on Monday, the Xmas decoration was graphic and alluring, complementing the recent retouching and face-lift of the complex.

At COLVET, it was more of a serious business as the College even constituted a Christmas Planning Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. (Mrs.) Ibironke Oyewusi.

The duo of Dr. (Mrs.) Oyewusi and Dr. (Mrs.) Olubanke Shogebi, were seen adding more decorations to the existing ones.
They told our crew: “For us at COLVET, Xmas decoration is a must every year, but we are not sure of holding Xmas party this year because of the ongoing ASUU strike. We are also on strike, what we are doing here is just freelance, as you can see that we are casual”.

The story was not different at COLPLANT, COLFHEC and the Health Centre, where the entrances were resplendently adorned.
