The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) programmes in the College of Management Sciences (COLMAS).

A release by the Director, Academic Planning Unit, Professor Adekojo Waheed informed that NUC’s approval was on the heels of the just concluded Resource Verification Exercise at the College.

According to the release, the programmes granted approval to commence teaching and research activities are Accounting, Banking and Finance and Business Enterprise Management.

Others are Entrepreneurial Studies and Economics.

Professor Waheed pointed out that the approval was a giant stride, “Considering the fact that the preparation for and establishment of the College before the Resource Verification visit was done within six months”.

“When this is viewed against the experiences of some sister Universities who have to wait for up to three years for verification visit or approval for new programmes, the FUNAAB experience was no mean feat”, he said.

The Director, Academic Planning Unit congratulated the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun for the laudable achievement which he said would not have been accomplished without his tireless commitment and determination.
