The Governing Council of the University has resumed duties, following its reinstatement, for exceptional performance, by the Visitor to the University, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
On resumption on Monday, February 20, 2012, members in earnest commenced a week-long 69th Statutory Meeting. The meeting was chaired by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Chief Lawrence Ayinde Olakunle Osayemi, which also had Mr. Joseph Lajuwomi, Bishop B.W Degi, Dr. Solomon Oladiti, Dr. Ben Efienemokwu, Mrs. F.O. Ezeozue and Mrs. Carol Obioha, as external members.
The internal members who were present included Prof. (Mrs.) Daisy Eruvbetine, Professor Ololade Enikuomehin, Dr. Sunday Olusola Akinwande and Professor Lateef Sanni.
A release signed by the Acting Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs. C. B. Kuforiji, indicated that the week-long activities began on Monday with the presentation and consideration of the views of the Federal Government of Nigeria on the Visitation Panel report into the Affairs of FUNAAB, 2004-2010, as well as consideration of the proposed Advertisement and Time Table for the appointment of the 5th Vice-Chancellor.
On Tuesday, the Council inspected various on-going projects in the University, lasting several hours with the members, guided by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun and the Director of Physical Planning Unit (PPU), Mr. B. A. Ayodele, inspected 14 on-going projects.
The inspected projects were the FUNAAB International School Access Road, FUNAAB Nursery and Primary School Staff Quarters, FUNAAB Nursery and Primary School building and Zoological Garden.
Others were the 3,000-Seater Auditorium, Administrative Building of International Scholars’ Centre, FUNAAB Guest House and Suites, Executive Lodges for Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor, the 500-Seater Central Computer Laboratory, 2,000-Capacity
