The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun has expressed appreciation to the entire University community for their support and understanding in the last five years.

Professor Balogun gave his appreciation during the Jumat Service and Send-forth Ceremony, held in his honour by the University’s Muslim community.

Professor Balogun noted with joy that every member of the University had played a vital role in the success story being told of the University, as he assured that FUNAAB would remain dear to his heart even after his sojourn from the University.

According to him, “FUNAAB has become an integral part of my family and whatever opportunity I have in future, the interest of FUNAAB will be uppermost in my mind and I assure you that your faith in me will not be misplaced”.

The Vice-Chancellor also commended the Muslim community for their tolerance during times of religious tension in the University while pleading with them to extend the same disposition and support to the incoming Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole.

Professor Balogun called on the Vice-Chancellor-designate not to be biased or segregate among religions, noting that the secret to the unity experienced in the University lies in the wisdom of operating without religious favouritism.

The Amir, FUNAAB Muslim community, Dr. Taofiq Salisu, gave thanks to God for answering the University’s prayers on Professor Balogun and also for endowing him to transform the University.

The Amir noted that the Muslim community was proud to be part of the success story of the University in the last five years because they were years when FUNAAB knew peace and detractors did not prevail over the Vice-Chancellor.

Dr. Salisu lauded the supports of the Vice-Chancellor at ensuring that the Mosque at Isale-Igbein was renamed while praying that God granted him favour in all his endeavours.

The Vice-Chancellor, Crescent University and former Director, Academic Planning, FUNAAB, Professor Okeleye, were among dignitaries that graced the occasion while Principal Officers of the University were equally present.
