Preparatory to the hosting of the maiden edition of the Staff Unity Games, some members of staff of the University have described the initiative as a welcome development.

In a chat with FUNAAB Bulletin, Dr. Israel Abiala, a Lecturer in the Mathematics Department, College of Natural Sciences (COLNAS) and Mr. Bayo Ogundimu, College Officer of COLNAS, described the initiative of the games as “a good thing in the life of the University”.

Speaking during one of the training sessions, Dr. Abiala noted that the games will boost the morale of staff towards sports’ development and the promotion of their well-being and physical fitness.

Mr. Bayo Ogundimu commended the initiatives of the Sports’ Directorate for coming up with the idea, which he said will improve staff interaction and make “unknown staff” to be known to their colleagues.

He described the games as a unifying factor and called on all staff members to come out en-mass and take active part.

Trainees from COLNAS, Bursary Department, Audit and Public Relations’ Directorates as well as IFSERAR, among several units of the University were seen at the Sports’ Centre, preparing for the games, scheduled to kick-start on Monday, July 16, 2012.
