An outstanding Governing Council member of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Mrs. Obioma Ezeozue, had gracefully bowed out, consequent of her retirement from the services of the Federal Ministry of Education which she represented in Council.

Mrs. Ezeozue was honoured to a befitting Send-forth Cocktail party.

At the event, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Chief Lawrence Ayinde Olakunle Osayemi, described Mrs. Ezeozue as a dedicated and selfless colleague, who exhibited great devotion to issues bordering on the development of the University.

The Pro-Chancellor commended her for her contributions and team spirit while praying for God’s continued guidance and divine favour on the retiree.

In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, expressed his appreciation to the Council member for her unquantifiable contributions to the progress of the University.

He disclosed that the University was working toward building a culture where all those who had served the University would be availed of a rallying forum, to continually tap from their experiences, for further development of the institution.

Responding, the out-going Council member said the memories of the time spent and her association with FUNAAB would remain indelible with her.

She thanked the Governing Council and Management for the honour bestowed on her, while assuring that the University would continue to occupy a special place in her heart.

Mrs. Ezeozue lauded the University for the peaceful transition of the Vice-Chancellorship, from the fourth to the incumbent, pointing out that it was a feat worth emulating by other higher institutions.

The out-going Council member prayed for God’s Grace and favour on the University such that it would soon emerge as the best University in Nigeria and indeed, Africa.
