The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund)’s Impact Assessment Team, has commended the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), for its judicious utilization of capital projects funds.

The team leader, Mr. Aliyu Mustapha, stated this during the team’s inspection of capital projects executed by the University as other members of his team expressed satisfaction with the prudent management of resources.

He stated that he had earlier visited FUNAAB campus years back, as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and described the rate of development in the University as ‘rapid and massive’.

During a reception for the team, Mr. Mustapha stated that the team’s mission was basically to appraise TETFund’s intervention projects in FUNAAB and to assess how the institution had utilized the funds disbursed to it, over the years.

He further informed that the various segments of the institution, such as student enrolment from Year 2000 to date, quality and standard of education, available equipment and library facilities, gave good indication that the University was developing.

Welcoming the TETFund team members, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, appreciated TETFund, describing it as the hope of tertiary institutions in the country.

“The Fund has helped our tertiary institutions in the areas of infrastructural development, library development, research and human capacity development by funding post-graduate studies”, he stated.
