The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has held a Send-Forth ceremony for the 2011/2012 Batch ‘C’ Corps members.
In his remarks at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole called on the Corps members to be focused and prayerful in life.
Professor Oyewole who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Professor Felix Salako, advised the corps members not to limit themselves to the scope of their studies in the University in meeting the challenges of life adding that they should showcase their in-built talents.
Professor Oyewole commended the corps members for contributing their own quota to the development of the University while serving, stressing that any negative report was not made on them throughout their stay.
He advised them not to allow money to be their paramount desire but rather to seek more knowledge.
Stating that “We are now in a stage where knowledge can earn you money”, he stressed.
The Vice-Chancellor admonished them to maintain integrity in all their dealings in life.
Speaking at the occasion, the outgoing Internal Corpers Liaison Officer (CLO), Mr. Adeoye Samson expressed appreciation to the Management of the University for allowing them to serve in the various Departments of the University.
“I sincerely appreciate the liberal and hospitable gestures extended to us by the entire University Community”, he said.
The ICLO gave kudos to the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun and the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyewole for the prompt payment of their monthly allowances.
The duo of Miss. Lela Omo-Ikhiroda and Mr. Olasupo Ibrahim on behalf of their colleagues, also expressed appreciation to the University.
Reciprocating the kind gestures extended to them by the University, the Corp members presented Waste Bin Baskets and Bed Sheets for the use of Environmental Management Unit and Health Centre respectively, to the representative of the Vice-Chancellor.
