Dean, COLERM, Prof. Oladepo Adedire

The Dean, College of Environmental Resources Management (COLERM), Professor Oladepo Adedire has described the Lecture as historical.

Speaking in a chat with FUNAAB Bulletin, Professor Adedire said “this Inaugural Lecture will be the first of its kind in the area of Silviculture”.

Professor Adedire defined Silviculture as “the raising of Forestry trees specie from the seedling stage to maturity and it also involves the tendering operations that are carried out to produce healthy forest”.

He thanked the University Management for giving the College the opportunity to deliver the University’s 37th Inaugural Lecture through one of its “highly resourceful staff”, Professor Aduradola.

According to the Dean, Professor Aduradola “is a thorough bred Forest Scientist, who has spent almost three decades teaching in the University system”.

He started in the 1980’s with the then University of Sokoto now Uthman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto. He is a God fearing and thorough bred Christian, who is well appreciated by his colleagues. He is an open minded person who is always aspiring for excellence. He really has untiring passion for excellence”, he added.
