convocations-funaabPreparations are in top gear as the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is set to hold its 23rd, 24th and 25th Convocation Ceremonies for the 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 academic sessions, respectively.

Programme of events begin with a Jumat Service on Friday, October 13, 2017 at the University Mosque by 1:00pm, followed by an Interdenominational Church Service at the Chapel of Grace on Sunday, October 15, 2017 by 9:30am. On Monday, October 16, 2017, there would be a Press Conference at the FUNAAB Ceremonial Building at 10:00am, while on Tuesday, October 17 and Wednesday, October 18, 2017, a Research and Agricultural Fair would hold at the FUNAAB Ceremonial Building Arena by 10:00am each day. The Convocation Lecture titled, “Food and the Future”, would be delivered by the nation’s Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief (Dr.) Audu Ogbeh, on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the FUNAAB Ceremonial Building at 2:00pm.

Meanwhile, the installation of the Chancellor, His Royal Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi-Otu (V), the Obong of Calabar holds on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the FUNAAB Ceremonial Building at 10:00am, while the Award of First Degrees For 2013/2014 & 2015 Sets hold simultaneously by 10:00am. The Award of First Degrees for 2015/2016 Set and the Award of Postgraduate and Honorary Degrees hold at FUNAAB Ceremonial Building on Saturday, October 21, 2017 by 10.00am. During the Convocation Ceremonies, the Chancellor is to be conferred with the Doctor of Science Degree (Honoris Causa).

Only graduands, who are cleared by their Colleges, Postgraduate School, Bursary and the University Library and who have paid the prescribed fees, will be eligible to collect their certificates, while collection of academic robes would begin on Monday, October 16, 2017 between 10.00am and 3.00pm, daily. Graduands are also expected to collect their convocation items from their various Colleges and the Postgraduate School from Monday, October 16, 2017 and must be physically present to receive their degrees.
