The University Permanent Site at Alabata Road was a beehive of academic and commercial activities for three successive day (September 23rd – 25th) as it played host to hundreds of candidates who thronged the Campus massively for the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation (Post UTME) Screening.
All roads from major entering points of Abeokuta led to FUNAAB Campus as admission seekers, their parents and guardians, as well as operators of mobile business centres, petty trading and food vendors, among others who had field day “besieged” and filled every available space from Camp Junction to the University main entrance to the brim.

Academics and commercial activities were in perfect harmony with the Post UTME as the University held sway for academic excellence, as prerequisite for admission into various programmes.
All hands of essential service providers of the University were on deck for the conduct of the exercise; From FUNAABOT Busses and their drivers who conveyed candidates to and fro Camp/Yakuub Mahmood Screening Centres to staffers of the Guidance and Counselling Unit who hosted and treated parents and guardians to enlightenment talk on the University, no stone was left unturned for the exercise.
The Safety Officers of the University were stretched but they did not disappoint; staffers of ICTREC on whose shoulders rest the electronic screening neither slept nor slumber, same goes for personnel of Academic Planning, Senate and Admission, among several others.
Elderly Professors cum former Council member and Principal Officers were fully on ground as Chief Invigilators exploring and deploring their wealth of experience towards the success of the exercise.

They include Professor Chyrss Onwuka, Professor Toyin Arowolo, Professor Christian Ikeobi, Professor (Mrs.) Oluyemisi Eromosele and Professor Johnson Ariyo.
The Management team was as busy as ants: For the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako, it was leadership by example. He was everywhere. His Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Morenike Dipeolu was up and doing, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Professor Lateef Sanni was on his toes.
The Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola was not exempted, he toiled, the Bursar, Mr. Chukwuwike Ezekpeazu sweats while University Librarian, Dr. Fehintola Onifade laboured for the successful conduct of the screening exercise.

But off Campus it was business unusual, transactions in online operations and petty trading hit an all time high. For owners and operators it was as if the Post UTME Screening should continue unabated as they smiled and laughted to Banks.
