The Vice Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has charged staffers of the University on the need to be resourceful, committed and diligent in the discharge of their duties, noting that the contribution of every member of staff is essential to the success of the University.
Giving this charge during a Sent-off Ceremony organized by the Bursary Department for a former Deputy Bursar in the University, Mr. Olayiwola Olaoye, Professor Salako who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Development, Professor Lateef Sanni urged members of staff, particularly those in the Bursary to emulate Mr. Olaoye whom he described as a true-breed professional, hardworking and thorough gentleman who never got himself entangled in any financial crisis.
According to him, “When we are talking about the excellence of FUNAAB Mr. Olayiwola Olaoye is one of those that contributed to FUNAAB. He is one of our finest staff, please let us emulate from his character”.
Former Deputy Bursar bows Out In Style …As VC Charges Staffers to be Resourceful
The Vice-Chancellor who stated that Mr. Olaoye will be remembered for his sincerity, diligence and competence all through his service years in the University, wished him all the best in his future endeavours.
The former Deputy Bursar of the University, Mr. Olaoye bowed out of service having attained the mandatory retirement age of Sixty-Five (65) years stipulated by the Civil Service rule.
Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Bursar, Mr. Chukwunwike Ezekpeazu commended the former Bursar for being a good ambassador of the Bursary Department and for meritoriously serving the University in various capacity within the Bursary Department.
He challenged staffers to be diligent and continue to contribute their quota to the success of the Department and University at large.
Responding, Mr. Olayiwola Olaoye appreciated God and the University Management for the honour and the opportunity to have offered his services.
According to him, although working in the Bursary Department had its own fair challenges, however, by the help of God and having the right mindset it was possible to overcome every challenge.
Mr. Olaoye advised his former colleagues to always put in their best whenever assigned any task, adding that whenever in doubt they should never feel too proud to ask for assistance from others.
He also charged the University Management to put in place measures to ensure that the Bursary Department is fully ICT compliant for efficiency and enhanced productivity.
