The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako has commissioned and handed over the College of Food Science and Human Ecology (COLFHEC) Phase II to the College for use.

Commissioning the project, Professor Salako, expressed joy and satisfaction at the quality of work done and the readiness of the building for use.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, having additional infrastructure would always improve the situation of things on campus.

He noted that there are sufficient offices for professors, other lecturers and non-teaching staff, saying that he was very happy with the offices designed for the Professors, noting that they are befitting and standard.

The Vice-Chancellor pointed out that while the construction was on-going, they were able to improve on the plan and the specifications as a result of which a standard building was constructed for COLFHEC.

He observed that the Building will help in teaching and research due to the laboratories put in place and a conducive environment for both Lecturers and other staff to function.

The facilities in the Building include six Professorial offices, two Heads of Department offices, four seminar rooms, one standard classroom, five laboratories, one Library, twenty-two offices, one board room and two stores.

The offices have been furnished and ready to be occupied. COLFHEC phase II is one of the Federal Government Revitalization Projects (Needs Assessment).

Present at the commissioning were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development Professor Lateef Sanni, the Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, the University Librarian Dr. Feyintola Onifade, Head, Directorate of Public Relations Dr. (Mrs.) Linda Onwuka, Deputy Registrar II, Vice-Chancellor Office Mrs. Toyin Dawodu, Professors and lecturers in the College.

Professor Salako was guided on the tour of the building by the Director, Directorate of Physical Planning Architect Babatunde Anasanwo.
