Miss Oyewole, Olubunmi Rashidat of Pasture and Range Management, has emerged the University Best Graduating Student for the 2010/2011 Academic Session with a Grade Point Average of 4.82.
Miss. Oyewole topped the list of Thirty –Nine (39) First Class Graduates, with the least GPA of 4.50, scored by the duo of Adamson, Mariam Abilehoho of Animal Nutrition (ANN) and Imite, Ebele Sophia of Soil Science and Land Management (SSLM).
A breakdown of the “list of First Class graduate 2010/2011 Session”, signed by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor M. A. Waheed and made available to UNAAB Bulletin showed that COLARUD comfortably led other Colleges by producing Eleven (11) First Class Graduates while College of Natural Science (COLNAS) followed with Seven (7).
It further revealed that all the Colleges produced First Class Graduates, with exception of the College of Veterinary Medicine whose results are unclassified.

Besides, female graduating students recorded a slight edge over their male counterparts as 20 out of the 39 First Class are females, including Miss Oyewole, who is the best Graduating student.
Checks by UNAAB Bulletin into the University Matriculation Examination (UME) result which admitted the First Class graduates into UNAAB also showed that Miss Oyewole scored the highest mark of 274 while she was trailed by Omugbe, Silas Evi who recorded 272.
Omugbe is also one of the 39 First Class Graduates. He is 19th on the list with a GPA of 4.58
Checks further revealed that, the Best Graduating Student was initially studying Food Science and Technology before changing to Pasture and Range Management.
Reacting to the brilliant performance, the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Waheed described it as progressive and unprecedented.
According to him, “since the inception of Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun administration, there has been sharp increase and steady progression in the GPA and numbers of First Class Graduates”.
“The reasons are not far fetched, the atmosphere is enabling, the Management has done so much in producing teaching aids, like power points, among others.”
Speaking in the same vein, the Deputy Vice – Chancellor, Academic, Professor Chyrss Onwuka described the 2010/2011 Academic session as unique.
According to him, the uniqueness lies in the early release of results, while the session also “co-terminated with the internationally defined end of session.”
A section of members of the University Community who spoke with UNAAB Bulletin said the enviable record of the just concluded academic session is a true reflection of the mission statement of the present administration, “Raising the Bar of Excellence.”
