Director, COBFAS, Dr. Joe Atungwu

A new Director has been appointed for the University’s Community-Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS).

He is Dr. Joe Jeremiah Atungwu, of the Department of Crop Protection, College of Plant Science and Crop Production (COLPLANT).

According to a release signed by the Acting Registrar, Mrs. Christiana Kuforiji, the appointment of the frontline alumnus of the University came on the heels of the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun.

The appointment, which took retroactive effect from 19th September, 2011 will be for a period of two years, in recognition of Dr. Atungwu’s capability to provide academic leadership and make positive contributions to the overall development of the University.

Dr. Atungwu was until his appointment, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Chairman, Management Committee on Transportation (MANCOT).

A prolific writer, Dr. Atungwu edited the UNAAB Alumni Newsletter for eight years, served twice as Chairman, UNAAB Alumni Association and the National Convention’s Organising Committee.

Dr. Atungwu took over the Directorship of COBFAS from Professor Felix Kolawole Salako, who was recently appointed the University’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development).
