A Graduate Fellow in the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Mr. Deji Adeoye has bagged the International Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET) 2012 Award.

The First Class graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta won the Best Student paper from the African University Award category, for his paper titled, “Challenges and Investment opportunities for Large-scale Aquaculture Farmers in Nigeria”, co-authored by his Project Supervisor and Mentor, Professor Yemi Akegbejo-Samson.

A release, signed by Professor Akegbejo-Samson informed that the presentation of the award will hold in Dar Es Salam, Tanzania, between July 16 to 20, 2012.

Meanwhile, the University’s representatives in the Tuning Pilot Project for Africa, Professor Akegbejo-Samson will be joining 60 other African Universities in Cape Town, South Africa to participate in the second series meeting on African Strategy for Harmonization in Higher Education and the realization of the objectives of the revised ARUSHA declaration.

The meeting will be held at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, from May 14 to 18, 2012.
