PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMME 2012/2013 ADMISSION


Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into a Part-time Degree Programme of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. The Programmes of study offered by the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta are listed below:

1. COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURAL MANAGEMENT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT (COLAMRUD)

Bachelor of Agriculture with options in
(i) Agricultural Economics and Farm Management
(ii) Agricultural Extension and Rural Development
(iii) Agricultural Administration

2. COLLEGE OF ANIMAL SCIENCE AND LIVESTOCK PRODUCTIONN (COLANIM)
Bachelor of Agriculture with options in:
(I) Animal Breeding and Genetics
(II) Animal Nutrition
(III) Animal Production and Health
(IV) Pasture and Range Management
(V) Animal Physiology

3. COLLEGE OF ENVIROMENTAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT (COLERM)
(i) Bachelor of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management
(ii) Bachelor of Environmental Management and Toxicology
(iii) Bachelor of Forestry and Wildlife Management
(iv) Bachelor of Water Resources Management and Agro-Meteorology

4. COLLEGE OF NATURAL SCIENCES (COLNAS)

5. COLLEGE OF PLANT SCIENCE AND CROP PRODUCTION (COLPLANT)

(iv) Plant Physiology and Crop Production
(v) Soil Science and Agricultural Mechanization

6. COLLEGE OF FOOD SCIENCE AND RURAL ECOLOGY (COLFHEC)
(i) Food Science and Technology – FST
(ii) Food Service and Tourism – FST
(iii) Home Science Management – HSM
(iv) Nutrition and Dietetics – NUD

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Entry requirements to Part-time Degree Programme are essentially the same as those for regular degree programmes in the University. In other words, candidates seeking admission into Part-time Degree Programmes should possess at least 5 O’level credit passes in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology or Agricultural Science in West African School Certificate Examination (WASC), Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE), National Examination Council (NECO), General Certificate of Education (GCE) or its equivalent. Candidates who possess NCE/OND, HND Certificates in related courses from institutions recognized by the University Senate may also apply.

NATURE OF PROGRAMME
The Part-time programme is a non-residential programme, with lectures holding on weekends at the Main Campus of the University. The programme will run for one (1) year above for the number of years of the full-time programme.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:
Application forms could be obtained from Institute for Human Resources Development (INHURD), FUNAAB, Mawuko Village, Abeokuta, on payment of a non-refundable fee of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) through the Zenith Bank teller, Isale-Igbein Branch, Abeokuta. Sales of application forms close four weeks from the date of this advertisement. After this, late application attracts additional fee.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
Candidate’s application forms should be returned to Institute for Human Resources Development (INHURD) not later than four weeks after collection. Candidates awaiting May/June 2012 SSCE, NECO results may also apply and submit those results to INHURD office as soon as they are released
