The Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), has approved the allocation and utilization of Ten Million Naira for the execution of 32 Research Projects by the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), under the 2011 TETFund-Research Project Intervention.

According to a release, signed by the Executive Secretary, TETFund, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the list of the approved research projects, under the Batch 1 of TETFund 2011 Research Projects’ (RP) intervention for FUNAAB include the optimization of pre-treated methods in the production of instant Water Yam Flour for Ojojo, using response surface methodology; the development of an improved Ofada Rice Threshing and Cleaning Machine; utilization of processed cassava meals in the practical diets of three Tilapia fish, among others.

The release further informed that the conditions for the allocation of the sum required that proper rendition on all transactions must be made by the institution to TETFund, in respect of the intervention for each candidate/staff Research Projects and that quarterly progress reports on the Institution’s – based Research Intervention be forwarded to the Fund regularly for monitoring purposes till the completion of the intervention.

Professor Yakubu stated that on completion of the Research Projects, the University will be expected to send a close-out/completion report to TETFund, within three months of completion.
