The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, has reiterated the commitment of his administration to preserving the lush green landscape of the University.

Professor Oyewole made this disclosure while commissioning 20 brand new Push-Mowers and three motorised mowers, to complement existing equipment in the University’s Directorate of Environmental Management (DEM).

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the University’s aesthetics and convivial environment are its distinctive features which distinguish the University, promising that they will be improved upon by the current administration.

“When you get to great Universities, one of the things that mark them out is that they have great minds in a great environment”, he said.

Professor Oyewole commended members of staff of the Directorate of Environmental Management for their dedication to duty while charging them to embrace good maintenance culture.

The Vice-Chancellor recommended that a Mechanic should be attached to the Unit to assist in regular servicing and maintenance of the equipment.

Speaking earlier, the Director of DEM, Mr. Emmanuel Bankole, expressed appreciation to the University’s Management for providing the necessary tools required by the Unit to effectively carry out its duties.

He, however, solicited for more equipment and the recruitment of more hands, as well as the provision of storage facilities for the equipment.
