The University Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Chief Lawrence Ayinde Olakunle Osayemi, on Thursday told Egba frontline monarchs that FUNAAB’s new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole was the right choice for the University.

Speaking at the formal presentation of the Vice-Chancellor and the new Registrar, Mr. Mathew Odunlade Ayoola, to the Alake of Egbaland, Osile of Oke-Ona, Agura of Gbagura and Olubara of Ibara, Chief Osayemi expressed confidence that Professor Oyewole will improve on the good works of his predecessor, Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun.

According to him, “I am always for excellence. I can say with all sense of responsibilities that our choice is the right choice.  Professor Oyewole emerged our Vice-Chancellor after a rigorous search, selection and interview”.

“We in the University are quite sure that the steps Professor Oluwafemi Olaiya Balogun had taken in bringing FUNAAB from obscurity to high visibility will be sustained”, he added.

The Pro-Chancellor, Osayemi while presenting Professor Oyewole to the paramount ruler of Egbaland, HRM Gbadebo said, “This is the highest place I can take you to, it’s now left for you to justify your appointment”.

He reminded the new Vice-Chancellor that “success is 30 percent inspiration and 70 percent perspiration”, adding that “I am very sure that with your experience as Senate member, success is on your way but managing a whole University is a different ball game”.

Chief Osayemi assured the new Vice-Chancellor that “As long as I am still in office, I will do everything possible to create an enabling environment for you to succeed”.

Presenting the Registrar, Mr. Ayoola to the Monarch, Chief Osayemi said, “the process and the search was rigorous.  We have high hopes that Mr. Ayoola, based on his experience, will be able to fit into the system and uplift the standard he met on ground”.
