An out-gone intern with the University’s Directorate of Public Relations, Miss. Dolapo Salako, has exuded the confidence of a fresh personality, with her exposure to the rudiments of Public Relations, Journalism, Information Management and Protocol, while at the Directorate.

Dee Pee, as she is fondly called by colleagues, penultimate Friday made the disclosure during a Send-forth Party, held in her honour by the Directorate.

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Director and Head, Public Relations, Mr. ‘Lasun Somoye said the event was organised to appreciate hardwork and commitment to excellence, adding that “in all we are doing, someone else, somewhere is watching us”.

He added that Miss. Salako had gained a lot in the Directorate and that the newly-acquired experience will be useful to her, in the furtherance of her studies in the University.

“You should not see it as a burden to call back on us in case of eventuality or professional clarification, feel confident to call on any one of us, should the need arise”, he said, wishing her the very best in her future endeavours.

Also speaking at the occasion was Miss. Salako’s Supervisor and the Principal Public Relations Officer (Media and External Relations), Mr. ‘Kola Adepoju, who described her as a good reporter and skilful at capturing events.

The Principal Technical Officer (PTO), Mr.Tajudeen Babs-Alabi, described her as a passionate person, adding that her zeal towards the Directorate’s participation in the maiden Staff Unity Games as the Sports’ Coordinator, paved the way for the two gold medals won in Chess and Lawn Tennis by the Directorate.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of gifts to the Intern by the Head of Public Relations, who said to the recipient: “I am very confident that this gift is well deserved and that you’ve earned it”.
