The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has been designated as the first African Authorized Learning Partner (ALP) for the International Centre for Professional Development (ICPD), the premiere IT training-provider based in Nigeria, for the Certified Wireless Network Professionals. Being an ALP partner makes it possible to utilise CWNP’s official student courseware and Certified Wireless Network Trainers (CWNTs), to deliver training classes and create a learning hub for IT professionals in Africa.

Lawrence Kazeem, a Senior System Analyst in FUNAAB and the pioneer Centre Manager for ICPD, disclosed that “I worked three years to become an ALP. I am honoured to achieve this title for my University. We shall make the ALP a learning hub for Africa so that we can educate IT professionals in our continent and provide them with practical training. We also hope to use ALP as a platform for wider advertising about our CWNP training classes in FUNAAB”.

Meanwhile, Brad Crump, President of CWNP has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Oyewole, Management and staff of FUNAAB on the accomplishment of being the first ALP in Africa, saying that “ICPD’s expertise on wireless networks and passion to educate IT professionals in Africa shows that the FUNAAB Centre will be an asset to CWNP and professionals across the globe”.
