The ‘Nimbe Adedipe Library of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta has added new services to its shelves for user’s convenience.
Commissioning the services, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kolawole Salako, who was represented by his Deputy in charge of Academic, Professor Morenike Dipeolu, commended the Management of the University Library for the feat.
She charged them not to be daunted by the challenges that may arise in trying to get better by the day, but rather overcome them and ride-on.
The Vice-Chancellor also thanked other units that have been working with the University Library, in order to make the new services see the light of the day.
Speaking on behalf of the Library, the Acting University Librarian, Dr. Fehintola Onifade noted that information is the cornerstone of every society. pointing out that at the Library, their function is to facilitate information.
Dr. Onifade said that the goal of the Library is to increase the space through technology, and make it possible for users to access the Library’s resources from anywhere.
She listed the new services to include the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), Online Library Registration and the Study Carrels, which is a study space where members of staff and post-graduate students can have their private studies unhindered.
Present at the commissioning were, the Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola, the Bursar, Mr. Chukwuwnwike Ezekpeazu, Dean, COLVET, Professor Adebayo Akinloye, Dean, Student Affairs, Professor Babatunde Idowu, Director, ICTREC, Professor Adesina Agboola, the Student Union Government President, Comrade Ayobami Popoola and top Library staff among others.
